Recruiting · NIL · The decisions that matter

The big decisions in your athlete’s journey deserve a strategy.

I help student-athletes and their families navigate college recruiting, NIL and the choices that shape what comes next, with the clarity of a lawyer, the discipline of a strategist and the heart of a sports parent.

Recruiting starts earlier than anyone tells you.

By eighth grade, coaches are watching. By tenth, families are fielding NIL questions with no one to ask. Offers arrive with deadlines, and every program sounds like the right fit.

Most families piece it together from other parents, club coaches and the internet. The stakes are too high for guesswork.

Why work with me

I’ve built strategy for major organizations. Now I’m in the stands, too.

I’m Shareé McKenzie-Taylor. I trained as a corporate lawyer at Simpson Thacher and led the transformation of Consumer Reports as a C-suite executive.

I’m also the parent of two competitive student-athletes here in D.C. I know the recruiting anxiety that starts at 13, the coach dynamics, the identity pressure and the NIL questions that show up in high school hallways.

What families get

  • A plan instead of guesswork
  • Independent advice. I don’t work for any school.
  • Someone who can read the fine print on an NIL agreement
  • A calmer household during a stressful season

For schools and programs

Recruit and keep families with confidence.

Academies, high school programs and athletic departments bring me in to redesign how they engage athletes’ families and to build NIL governance that holds up. I also speak to parent groups about recruiting and NIL.
